Medical Interpreter Course Starts in 1 Week
Compass Interpreters at The Center will be offering another Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreters training course starting next Saturday.
Compass Interpreters at The Center will be providing another Medical Interpreter Training Course starting next Saturday. There is still time to join the training. There is a high need for languages of limited diffusion spoken by resettled refugee populations.
The upcoming training dates are: June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20, and July 27.

Compass Interpreters provides Bridging the Gap (BTG) medical interpreter training multiple times during the year. Bridging the Gap was the first 40-hour training program of its kind for medical interpreters, created by the Cross Cultural Healthcare Program. Bridging the Gap set the standard on how to best train multilingual individuals to be professional medical interpreters. The Center has offered BTG training through licensed Bridging the Gap trainers for more than 20 years. Current Manager of Compass Interpreters, Qinji Allen, is a licensed BTG Trainer.
Compass Interpreters is the interpretation department at The Center. The department has been providing spoken language support in the Mohawk Valley and throughout New York for the last 20 years. Compass Interpreters has multiple linguists providing support for languages spoken by resettled refugees communities including Burmese, Karen, Rohingya, Malay, Swahili (Kiswahili), Kinyarwanda, Somali, Maay Maay, Ukrainian, Dari, Pashto and others. Support is also provided for more commonly spoken languages such as Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Bosnian and more. Contact scheduling@compassinterpreters.org to schedule an interpreter.
