MVRCR Receives $4,300 Donation From The Women’s Fund of Herkimer & Oneida Counties
The Mohawk Valley Resource Center for Refugees is pleased to announce that $4,300 has been received from the Women’s Fund of Herkimer & Oneida Counties to support yoga classes for refugee and immigrant women intended to improve physical and mental health, as well as connect them to other women with shared experiences.
Through the project, MVRCR intends to provide an opportunity for refugee and immigrant women to connect with other women from the refugee and immigrant community intended to foster a sense of connectedness and community, provide an opportunity for relaxation and stress relief, and encourage exercise and a healthy lifestyle. The classes will provide a supportive social environment that enhances self-confidence and community engagement.
