Today is the day! Support #thecenterutica for #MohawkValleyGives. The Center’s Board of Directors has created a special match for our first $1,375.00 in donations. Your donation (up to $100) will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling your support for The Center’s many services in support of refugees, immigrants, and newcomers to the Mohawk Valley. 

And don’t forget that the entire Mohawk Valley Region benefits from our refugee neighbors. The City of Utica has one of the highest per capita percentage of refugees of any city in America. 32% of Utica residents speak a language other than English at home. Like other communities that welcome refugees and immigrants, Utica has benefited economically and culturally from the arrival of refugees and immigrants. With strong resettlement support in place at The Center, many of the nearly 18,000 refugees we have resettled over the years have remained in Utica, stabilizing the population and reversing the trend of population decline seen in many upstate NY cities.
