Take your cultural competency and awareness to the next level by immersing yourself in a fun, interactive training experience through The Center. We offer training to make your employees more culturally aware. Our goal is to create welcoming spaces for all types of people, no matter who they are or where they are from; and to make you more culturally aware in your interactions with persons from different backgrounds.

Overview
We bring over 35 years of cultural and linguistic expertise to our fun and exciting cultural competency and awareness training. We offer this training to all businesses, organizations, and government agencies interested in improving employees’ understanding of different worldviews and guiding employees to become more culturally aware. We are committed to working with you to create welcoming work environments. Be our partner in building community with many cultures. We have proven experience and can work across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, mental health services, government services, education, business, legal, and language sectors.

Will you travel to provide training?
We want to be available to you wherever you are — even if it is across the country. Cultural awareness is crucial in the workplace and for personal interactions. We believe every employee should have the opportunity to be more culturally aware in their work environment. Travel fees apply, but we want to travel to you. Call us to discuss your unique situation!

How flexible is your schedule for training?
Any time — day or night — our trainer is flexible and ready to accommodate you and your organization’s needs.

How far in advance do I need to schedule a training?
A month in advance is best for us, but we may be able to accommodate requests within a shorter time frame. Contact us if you have an urgent need.

Do you offer any drop-in or general training I can sign up for?
We do not offer drop-in training right now, but we’d love for you to join our mailing list so you can get updates on when we may offer it in the future at our new Opportunity Training Center. We are now planning a schedule for 2020.

How much does your training cost?
Training is $375 per training & consulting hour. One hour trainings incur a $500 base fee. Travel, travel time, or intensive curriculum development is not included. We can accommodate some honorariums depending on the circumstances. Please contact our trainer to discuss your specific situation.

Can you do more than one training a day?
Yes, we can arrange more than one training in a day. If you need to schedule your employees to cover morning and afternoon, we can easily deliver same-day training.

Do you offer multi-day training?
Yes, we can offer an extended program that goes deeper into each topic, explores specific cultures more directly or offers organizational reflection.

Do you offer training on specific cultures?
Yes, if you would like a group-specific training, we can accommodate this request and tailor the presentation.

Can you provide a program that does not discuss refugees and immigrants, but instead focuses on interaction between employees?
Yes, our philosophy focuses on transferable knowledge. We can discuss topics as they relate to different cultures within the U.S. (such as rural vs. urban culture) and different preferences. We also offer sessions on organizational culture. Let us know your needs and we will do our best to accommodate!

For information about our training space, please visit the Opportunity Training Center page. There are different meeting spaces you can choose from based on your needs. If you do not have a space in your facility to host the presentation, we gladly welcome you to ours.
